A penthouse atop a historic building in the Upper East Side had terraces on 3 sides. An ambitious design including custom decorative metal and glass guardrails and a wood pergola with flowering vines to create an intimate and private dining space was proposed and is currently being installed. Trees and hedging will provide privacy in custom planters. Custom metal arbor and a retractable awning will provide shade to different spaces around the penthouse.
